Doctor Who news: Free Churchill story to download!

This week, Doctor Who fans can listen to an audio adventure from Big Finish for free, featuring the Ninth Doctor and Winston Churchill!
For a long time, Winston Churchill has played quite the role in the Doctor Who universe. Along with making several appearances during the early years of Steven Moffat’s era of showrunner, Churchill has also appeared in various Doctor Who stories in other media, both before and after the show’s revival began.
For the next week, you can listen to one of these stories for free. Starring Ian McNeice as Churchill and Emily Atack as his secretary Hetty, The Oncoming Storm by Phil Mulryne features the Prime Minister encountering the Ninth Doctor, not long after he’d been through the events of the Time War.
The Oncoming Storm is just the first of several stories told in The Churchill Years – a range focused on telling heavily narrated stories about the numerous adventures that Churchill and the Doctor have shared over the years. A range that is currently on sale right now.

The Churchill Years
The Churchill Years is a range of audio stories from Big Finish told directly from Churchill’s perspective. While other cast members do appear playing other roles, it’s primarily lead by Ian McNeice, who resumes the role that he originally played back in Matt Smith episode Victory of the Daleks.
Director Ken Bentley stated what appealed to him about the series.
"The thrill about getting Churchill into the studio was, for me, about the storytelling world. One of the fascinating things about Big Finish (and Doctor Who itself) is the broad range of storytelling worlds the plays inhabit. Unusually the period in which Churchill lived isn’t a world we’ve visited often, so it felt fresh and exciting to explore."
That world hasn’t just been explored in this range of Doctor Who audios, however. Churchill has also appeared in several full-cast releases, including Ravenous 1, The Third Doctor Adventures Volume 6, and Seventh Doctor story Subterfuge. All of these are currently discounted in the sale.
