Doctor Who news: Fifth Doctor audio Time Apart is out now!

The Fifth Doctor returns for four brand new adventures in audio anthology Doctor Who: Time Apart – out now!
Well, that’s typical. You wait for almost two whole months for a regular Doctor Who audio, and then all of a sudden, two of them come along at once! Yesterday saw the release of delayed Sixth Doctor audio The Lovecraft Invasion. Today now sees the release of Fifth Doctor anthology Time Apart.
This is an audio that I’ve been excited about since last year. At the end of the Fifth Doctor’s previous season, he and his companions had been through a lot. Especially the Doctor, who faced both the Cybermen and the loss of his companion Adric in a big way. He realizes that he needs to spend some time on his own to recover.
Time Apart sees him doing just that. Across the history of his favorite planet, the Doctor aims to find some peace. Of course, with him being the Doctor, he inevitably finds himself in danger – several times, in this case…

Different takes
For Fifth Doctor actor Peter Davison, this new anthology gave him a chance to explore different sides to his iconic character.
"These are four different takes on the Doctor in the four different stories of this collection. In one I’m quite jaunty and jolly and in another one I’m slightly more baffled.But I’ve enjoyed all the four stories. They’re very different. I’ve always been rather fond of the stories in which the Doctor fiddles in history. But of course it’s also nice to meet the odd alien."
It certainly sounds like we get a distinct mix of stories in this anthology. Time Apart sees the Doctor visiting locations such as a superstitious medieval village, an underground station in East Berlin, a silent ship in the Indian Ocean, and Strasbourg during the Dancing Plague. With so many times and places, it looks like this is one packed anthology.
