Doctor Who news: Tom Baker and David Tennant star in new audio!

Later this year, the Tenth Doctor will finally meet the Fourth in the brand new Doctor Who audio Out of Time, starring David Tennant and Tom Baker!
It’s taken a long time, but it’s finally happening. In Aug 2020, we get to hear what happens when Tom Baker’s Doctor meets David Tennant’s. As announced by Big Finish today, both will star in the upcoming new Doctor Who audio Out of Time. And they’re both joined by very familiar enemies – the Daleks!
It’s not hard to see why these two particular incarnations have been thrown together. Both Doctors remain hugely popular, perhaps the most popular Doctors of their respective eras. So to have them finally meet is hugely exciting.
In some ways, it’s almost surprising that Big Finish hasn’t given us this particular combination of Doctors sooner. But while Tennant is always clearly happy to work for Big Finish, he’s also an extremely busy actor, so it’s easy to see why this story is only being told now. They’ve come close to sharing a story together – last year, Tennant did a cameo in a story featuring Tom Baker’s Doctor (and many others…). But this is the first audio with both Doctors sharing an equally important role.
The Tenth Doctor meets the Fourth Doctor and faces the Daleks in this story – something that David Tennant is very happy about as a lifelong fan.

David’s Doctor
Being a huge fan himself, David Tennant was unsurprisingly very happy to meet his hero.
"Tom Baker was obviously the first Doctor that I knew. I was small when he took over and I grew up through the seven years that he was the Doctor. I was a massive fan. I met him in John Menzies in Glasgow and he signed my book. I had a doll of him. All that. Tom Baker was very much the Doctor. There is something about the way he is associated with the character that seems utterly timeless."
But Four meeting Ten isn’t the only exciting thing about this story. It turns out that Out of Time is just the first of several releases that will feature pairings of different Doctors meeting each other.
More than that: they’ll also be battling old enemies across the series. The Daleks will feature in the first release. But who else will feature? What other enemies will the Doctors be facing? And which Doctors will be meeting each other? We can’t wait to find out.
