Doctor Who Classic is finally available to stream on BritBox UK!

It’s been available to watch in both the US and Canada for quite some time, but today, fans in the UK can finally watch Doctor Who Classic on BritBox!

To say that the collection of Doctor Who episodes BritBox UK features is extensive is an understatement. Featuring episodes, specials and animation from across the first eight Doctors, 627 pieces of the Classic era are now available to watch on the streaming service.

These include 129 complete stories (totaling 558 episodes), plus five more completed through a mixture of both surviving footage and animation. On top of that, both The Power of the Daleks and The Macra Terror – two entirely missing stories – have also been included as entirely animated stories. Other partially missing stories have also been completed through telesnaps, including The Underwater MenaceThe Wheel in Space and The Web of Fear.

If that wasn’t enough, several orphaned episodes have been included, including the two surviving episodes of The Crusade, plus Galaxy 4The Space Pirates and The Celestial ToymakerAn Unearthly Child: The Pilot EpisodeAn Adventure in Space and Time and Doctor Who: The Movie have also been included – the last of which isn’t even available on BritBox in North America!

A long-term collaboration

This is a big moment for British Whovians. There has never been a collection of Classic Series episodes this huge available to stream in the UK before. So whether you’re a huge fan of the Classic Series itching to re-watch your favorite serial, or you’re a New Series fan that’s keen to watch the early years of the show, this is a fantastic opportunity.

Even better is that this is just the start of a long-term collaboration between BritBox and the BBC, with even more content planned to be released over time. Reemah Sakaan, Group Director ITV SVOD, has stated:
