Doctor Who: The Legacy of Time – Who’s biggest crossover event ever – is out now!

After almost a year of waiting, the day has finally arrived. The Legacy of Time – a special Doctor Who box set featuring six Doctors and a huge cast of characters – is out now!

It’s strange to think that we’ve been waiting almost a year for this. Back in August last year, Big Finish announced The Legacy of Time – a six-hour box set designed to celebrate twenty years of their Doctor Who audios.

We had been hoping that Big Finish would release something special for this event. After all, they had released the epic multi-Doctor story The Light at the End in 2013 to celebrate the television series’s fiftieth anniversary. That was a very satisfying release. But even we didn’t have a clue how huge Big Finish’s special twentieth anniversary release would be until they announced it.

Along with featuring stories focused on six different Doctors – specifically, the Third all the way through to the Eighth (but not necessarily in that order) – The Legacy of Time was also revealed to include a ton of companions and characters from Big Finish’s many, many spin-off series. The first episode alone features the Eighth Doctor, River Song and Bernice Summerfield – the last of which Big Finish have been telling stories with for over twenty years! So that combination alone was enough of an indication of just how massive this release was!

Many meetings

More from Winter is Coming

It just gets bigger from there. We’ve got the Seventh Doctor and Ace meeting the Counter-Measures team again – in both the Sixties and the Seventies! The Third Doctor will be meeting Kate Stewart and Osgood; the Fifth Doctor will meet his daughter Jenny, and the Sixth Doctor and Charley are reunited with DI Patricia Menzies, one of the best non-companion characters we’ve ever had!

It all ends in Collision Course, featuring the Fourth Doctor while travelling with Leela…and the Fourth Doctor while travelling with Romana. This is also the episode where everything gets resolved, so I expect this is a story set to feature a massive climax.

On top of that, there are two bonus discs going into behind the scenes of the story and the history of Big Finish. This is a huge box set for Big Finish – in fact, it’s easily the biggest Doctor Who release they’ve ever done! We are so happy that it’s finally released! Expect numerous reviews over the next few days covering each and every one of the stories contained in this extremely special release.

You can purchase The Legacy of Time right now on CD and download directly from Big Finish’s website.
