Twice Upon a Time: Did Moffat accidentally reveal the Master isn’t dead?

There have been different reactions amongst people about the finale, Twice Upon a Time. But while everyone else has been looking at the big picture, I noticed something…

Now that Twice Upon a Time has aired, we know everything about the plot with the Enchanted Glass people, Testimony. With what we know, has it accidentally been revealed the Master isn’t dead? The glass people are really just people’s memories, uploaded at the end of their timeline. While many people were worried about what the Glass People would be, they turned out to be a harmless operation.

We saw that the chamber of the dead even held the memories of the past regenerations, which were shown when the First Doctor didn’t know what was going on. So that means, in theory, the Master’s previous regenerations are in there somewhere.

This could have been the perfect way to bring back Missy for some final closure, but as we saw, that didn’t happen. But I’m not trying to focus on what could have been; I’m trying to make a point. Since we never saw the Master in the Chamber of the Dead, is it possible that she (or he) is still alive?

Obviously, Moffat couldn’t erase such a huge character to Doctor Who canon. The Master has been around since the Third Doctor, and to kill him off would be like killing the Doctor off. Therefore, we all expect a Master arc in the future.

But this gives us the confirmation: the Master isn’t dead.

This brings back the possibility for Michelle Gomez, who has already expressed interest — to come back. In fact, should Chibnall want, these people that Moffat created at the eleventh hour is the way to bring anyone back. Just believe in the memories of the people!

Am I grasping at straws? Probably. I don’t want the Master to be dead, but I want it to mean something. But it’s still something to think about. Missy dying was a huge part of The Doctor Falls. Maybe the answer lies in a scene that didn’t make the final cut.

Am I grasping at Doctor Who straws? Or do you think the Master’s absence is a good thing?
