The BBC and Doctor Who releases yet another season 10 trailer, and this one has high energy and hints at the Doctor’s regeneration.

The BBC released another season 10 trailer and this one might have a few hints about the Doctor’s regeneration. Of course, this might just be one of the infamous tricks to throw us off the trail, but we’ll admit, we’re intrigued.

We do know the new season is going to be heart-pounding, with high energy and a focus on the Doctor and Bill as heroes. We’re warned, “This is the gateway to everything that ever was, or can be…” So the stakes are pretty high for the tenth season.

In the fast paced trailer, we get another peak at Peter Capaldi and Steven Moffat’s last season.  We see the emoji speaking robot, Mars, a few of the big bads, Missy dabbing, and quite a bit of slow motion running. But then there’s those last few seconds.

The big news (and maybe the big reveal) is the hint that the Doctor might be regenerating long before the Christmas special, like we first thought. There’s not a lot of new footage, but there is a moment in which the Doctor is clutching his chest and the infamous orange glow begins to appear.

This gives could mean the Doctor will regenerate during the actual season, which is not what we’ve been led to believe by show officials. This could be a game changer in terms of choosing a new Doctor after Capaldi departs.

This doesn’t mean we haven’t been tricked before. They released a video of Missy earlier in the year that hinted she could possibly be the new Doctor, but, of course, that’s yet to be confirmed either.

The new trailer and the little nugget contained therein could just be another distraction or attention-seeking tactic. This is probably just meant to keep fans on the edge of their seat and biting their nails until the premiere in a couple of weeks.

The trailer hits the same day rumors are swirling about Pearl Mackie leaving after this season and just days after they announce that Bill will be the first openly gay companion. It’s a busy time over at Doctor Who as tensions build moving toward the new season. I know I’m read.
