Role Reversal: Would the Companion be a Man or a Woman?

When it comes to the companion on Doctor Who, the most recent ones have at least always included a ‘hot woman’. But if the Doctor is a woman, what are they?

Doctor Who is always contingent about who the companion to the Doctor is. In years past it was his granddaughter or a man but with the new reboot of the series came a new kind of companion.

Basically they had to be a hot woman who ran around in a mini-skirt at least once. Some of the jokes of the series even poked fun at the fact that the Doctor’s friend was always hot. It was their weird way of making it a loving relationship between the Doctor and whoever chose to travel with him.

So if the new Doctor ends up being a woman, what will happen? Will her companions continue to be women in mini-skirts or would that be too many women for the precious fans of Doctor Who? Will we get a male companion to overly sexualize like all the women before him?

Personally I’d rather have two ladies in space travelling. It will make a female Doctor not a love interest and would give us just some amazing adventures. But if it is a male Doctor, a man companion would also be nice.

A lot of fans are just tired of the relationship between the Doctor and the females he chooses to travel with so it would be wonderful to see a change in that. Just friends travelling through space without any kiss making them realize they’re not meant to be.
