Doctor Who Regeneration: Could Felicity Jones Pull Off Playing the Doctor?

facebooktwitterreddit

Everyone has their theories on who can play the Doctor after his next regeneration. So could Felicity Jones take over playing him?

Felicity Jones is of the highest caliber of actors. She is Oscar nominated and just brought to life a new Star Wars heroine. But can she take on the Doctor? This is just something that I think would be a great fit for Doctor Who and would make fans of Star Wars extremely happy.

She is probably too busy for a television show like this but still. Just imagine how brilliant she would be taking on the Doctor? She’d bring a humanity to him that Capaldi’s serious and sometimes rude Doctor lacked.

Felicity would be great because there would definitely be more vulnerable moments for the Doctor like what we had with Eleven. And again, a woman playing the Doctor would just be an amazing step for the show.

After all, everything about Doctor Who is about being accepting and changing the world for the better. So why not let an amazing woman lead this show? The thing about it is that a lot of people get angry when you merely suggest that a woman take on the role.

They defend their stance by saying they aren’t sexist but really, there’s no reason a woman couldn’t play the part. So yes, it is kind of sexist for someone to instantly shun the idea of a woman playing the Doctor.

You don’t have to like it but saying that the Doctor should always be a man is idiotic. He changes his appearance every time he dies and we’ve seen another Time Lord regenerate into a woman. There’s no excuse.

What are your thoughts? And before you say “No women should play the Doctor”, I don’t agree.
