Doctor Who: Matt Strevens to Co-produce Series Eleven with Chris Chibnall

It has been reported that Matt Strevens will join Chris Chibnall to executive produce Doctor Who starting with Series Eleven.
With all of the upcoming changes coming to Doctor Who, announcements regarding the show’s executives have been included in the variety of Who news this year. Back in January, it was reported that Chris Chibnall would be replacing Steven Moffat as showrunner of Doctor Who starting with Series Eleven. With Chibnall will come the addition of a writers room.
Last month, Piers Wenger — former executive producer for Doctor Who from 2010 to 2011 and The Sarah Jane Adventures in 2009 — was appointed to the position of Controller of BBC Drama Commissioning. With the BBC relying on shows like Doctor Who to give the company a boost, it is unclear whether or not the selection of Wenger was a triangulated move, or simply a coincidence.

The most recent news is that Matt Strevens has been chosen to executive produce Doctor Who with Chibnall. Strevens is already part of the Doctor Who family, having produced the 2013 television movie An Adventure in Space and Time, the behind the scenes story of the early days of the program. He was also a producer for the BBC drama miniseries Capital (for which he was also an executive producer for one episode) in 2015, the Channel 4 drama series Cucumber in 2015, the BBC drama series Silk in 2014, the E4 science fiction superhero series Misfits (one of my favorites, by the way) from 2011 to 2012, the E4 teen drama series Skins in 2011, the RTÉ restaurant drama series Raw in 2010, and the ITV police procedural series The Bill from 2007 to 2009.
Cucumber was created and executive produced by former Doctor Who, Torchwood, and The Sarah Jane Adventures executive producer Russell T Davies. Julie Gardner also executive produced these four shows.
According to Digital Spy:
"“Strevens’s hiring was announced via a tweet on the BBC’s official Doctor Who Twitter account, though the post was later deleted.”"
So is it still happening? We hope so.
