Doctor Who Preview/Synopsis: ‘The Zygon Inversion’

It’s time to resolve a massive worldwide alien infiltration in this week’s episode of Doctor Who, ‘The Zygon Inversion.’ Last week we learned that a splinter faction of Zygons was intent on breaking the treaty established in ‘The Day of the Doctor’ and that the two Osgoods had been given a contingency plan by the Doctor called the “Osgood box.”

By episode’s end, Clara and Kate Stewart were allegedly “dead,” replaced by Zygon duplicates, and the Zygon Clara used a rocket launcher to blow up the plane carrying the Doctor and Osgood. There’s no easy solution to this mess, with millions of Zygons embedded in our cities across the globe. It’ll be interesting to see how the Doctor manages to resolve the crisis — especially without his closest allies.

Here’s the official synopsis for ‘The Zygon Inversion’:

"Shapeshifting Zygons are everywhere in the UK, and there is no way of knowing who to trust. With UNIT neutralised, only the Doctor stands in their way. But how do you stop a war? And what can the Doctor do to save his friends?"
