This week, Doctor Who brings us a sequel to the 50th anniversary story, ‘The Day of the Doctor.’ No, not the Gallifrey Falls/War Doctor stuff, but the OTHER story — the Zygon invasion of Earth and the peace treaty they negotiated. It seems the Zygons have reneged on their end of the deal, and somehow Osgood is back from the dead, as well.
Jemma Redgrave returns as UNIT’s head of scientific research, along with Jaye Griffiths as Jac, and Peter Capaldi’s former The Thick of It co-star Rebecca Front as Colonel Walsh. Following the pattern established so far this year, ‘The Zygon Invasion’ will be followed next week by part two, ‘The Zygon Inversion.’
