After months and months of waiting, we’re getting down to the wire here. Everything that we’ve been waiting for is eventually going to happen – good or bad. We’ve already been talking about how Missy might know more than she’s letting on, but we have more info.

The BBC have revealed to Radio Times when John Simm is going to appear, and it’s earlier than expected. The BBC confirmed that he’ll appear in the June 24th episode, as in next week’s episode, World Enough and Time. Michelle Gomez is also listed to appear in that episode as well.

World Enough and Time marks the beginning of the two part episodes. The episodes put the Doctor in a dangerous place he’s never been in, and now with the Master and Missy, who knows? The two-Master storyline is something that I have been putting off – for lack of information and nervousness, honestly.

The Master and Missy, what could go wrong?

A lot, really. If my simulation idea is wrong (and I’m often wrong about Doctor Who) then this is trouble. The Master and Missy are the same person that we know of. Even if she’s from before he died in The End of Time, a popular fan theory, it’s still the same Time Lord/Lady. We all know that this causes paradoxes and black holes and who knows what else.

It’s likely that John Simm‘s Master is going to destroy any good the Doctor’s done in helping Missy. We could hope that Missy is actually on the good side of this, but too many sources are saying they’re fighting together. This could lead to fighting him for every bad feeling she’s had while trying to get better.

Honestly, to have the Master come back requires something to happen, here’s what can’t happen:

  • Missy can’t degenerate because they’re fighting side by side.
  • Missy can’t put her regeneration energy into something else because she doesn’t have a hand like 10 did (that we know of)

Something has to have gone wrong in the universe to make this possible. It may not be my simulation idea, but it’s something big, and I think we all better be ready.

Next: What did Missy mean at the end of 'Empress of Mars'?

We still have one more episode before this all begins, but it’s hard not to look ahead. What do you think will happen?
