Why Riz Ahmed Would Make a Great Choice for the 13th Doctor

After Rogue One, Riz Ahmed has been the talk of the town. But you know what role he’d be great in if we gave him the chance? The Doctor!

Everyone has their choice for the Doctor and everyone is right to have their opinions but hear me out about Riz Ahmed. Doctor Who is all about growing and changing so having a man of color as the Doctor? That’d be amazing!

And not only that, Riz is a great actor who would bring so much to the role. The British actor is currently famous for his role as Bodhi in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. But he has shown his abilities in countless movies and television programs and, most recently, he had been nominated for a Golden Globes for his work in The Night Of.

Riz is also an accomplished rapper and was even featured on The Hamilton Mixtape in the song “Immigrants”. Basically, he is absolutely amazing and is everywhere right now! So why not cast him as the Doctor? There is a heavy debate right now about the Doctor and his very white past.

Many don’t want the Doctor to be a woman and while I do not agree with that (the Doctor as a woman would be incredible), but a man of color would be great for the show! And if it was Riz, a lot of his newer fans from his character Bodhi in Star Wars would bring more fans into the show!

We don’t know who is going to play the thirteenth Doctor but we do know that Doctor Who returns this April. It will be Capaldi’s last full season and he will leave come Christmas of 2017. So maybe just think about Riz, casting gods. He’d be amazing.
