And Now Hayley Atwell Might Want To Be Doctor Who Thirteen

Hayley Atwell might want to be the new Doctor Who and we are definitely, absolutely here for that. All the yesses forever.

Hayley Atwell took to Twitter to hint at her willingness at being the new Doctor. And we’re more than a little hype at this possibility.  A handful of retweets this week come years after a Tweet sent in 2015 that comes right out and says she wants it.

Don’t mind us… We’re just over here squeeeing our nerd heads off. Can you even imagine? If Agent Carter is the Thirteenth Doctor? I can’t even begin to talk about how exciting this cross-over could be. Fans are already all over the  meme game.

It all started with an innocent Twitter Q & A way back in 2015 in which Atwell answered a fan’s question about appearing on the series as a guest star. She came right out and said she didn’t want to be on the show as a guest, but she wanted to BE the Doctor.

The tweet has since been removed, but she retweeted the mention to her feed.  Gizmodo ran the story shortly thereafter.

Now that the spot has actually opened up in the Whoniverse, fans are reconvening to promote Atwell for the Doctor and she’s back to retweeting their support.

Although not confirming it, she’s sharing these posts from fans:

Atwell currently stars in the ABC legal show Conviction about a team of lawyers reexamining death row cases. She plays Hayes Morrison, a wild card attorney with a dodgy past and reckless attitude. Although she’s doing solid work as a TV lawyer these days, her fans know and love her best as Agent Peggy Carter.

On the tragically short-lived Agent Carter, Atwell played the iconic role from the Marvel Universe, and was probably the most fabulous and best dressed of all the Marvel heroes.

Atwell has some stiff competition for the new role. There are all sorts of folks willing to step into the Time Lord’s shoes, but if anybody can fill them properly, it would be a former superhero and legal ace.
